Pomegranate and Carnation - Replica of a Semi-Silk Fabric from the 16th-17th Century. Patterned based on the analysis of a preserved chasuble from Kratochvíle Castle. The fabric in this original color scheme was designed under the supervision of the National Heritage Institute in České Budějovice for use on a Renaissance bed at Vimperk Castle. The original fabric was woven in Italy around 1600 as a double weave using natural silk combined with cotton and linen. The pattern alternates motifs of pomegranates and carnations.
Replica for Vimperk Castle |
