Historical brocade with eagle and leopard motive is perfect for sewing your period costume.

Replica of Italian brocade from 14th century. These luxury fabrics, often containing metal threads, were in high demand and sold throughout Europe. They were used both for dress and furniture in church and secular contexts.

Brocade was a historical designation of a generally silk fabric with a distinctive jacquard (woven) pattern. The patterns were interwoven with threads twisted with precious metal fibers - silver or gold. However, the brocade label was subsequently used for any fabric with a rich pattern. The brocade technique comes from the Near East.
